Highlights of the new projects

* The project related to introducing the “MARINE MAGNETOTELLURIC TECHNIQUE” first of its kind in India . This is has been carried out during Oct./Nov. 2007 in Gulf of Kutch region.

* Continuous monitoring of magnetotelluric signals in Koyna region and transmission of the data and operation of the instrument remotely at Hyderabad has been introduced again first time in India using cell phone sim cards for internet transfer of data. This way the set up become unmanned operation.

 INTERNATIONAL  COLLABORATION /PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN/COMPLETED

  1. International collaboration with Prof. V.Spichak, Geomagnetic Research Centre (GEMRC), Troitsk, Moscow on the application of aritificial neural network to assess geothermal potential, construction of 3D models of central India and also on Tsunami alarm system. (P.I: T.Harinarayana)
  2. Indo-Bulgarian project is developed and field investigations in Bulgaria have been completed to assess the geothermal potential of Bulgaria (P.I: T.Harinarayana)
